Claude Beaver, age 51, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at his home in Overton, Nevada after battling cancer for nearly a year. He was born May 21, 1961 in Copper Hill, Tennessee to Hoyt and Nettie Byers Beaver. On May 4, 1996 he married Maria Garcia in Mesquite, Nevada.

Claude grew up in Tennessee and later in Georgia. He worked for Primex Plastics for 30 years. His work brought him to Mesquite, Nevada in 1993 where he met his sweet heart, Maria. They moved to Overton in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and everything to do with cars. His greatest joy came from being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Maria of Overton, NV; his daughter, Meghan Beaver of Blue Ridge, GA; step children: Michele (Six) Hernandez of Logandale, NV; Roman David (Laura) Cortez and Daniel (Amanda) Cortez all of Fishers, IN; Yvette Cortez of Pahrump, NV; Manuel Cortez of Overton, NV; 21 grandchildren; one great grandson; four brothers and one sister: Kenneth, Vernon (Barbara), Hoyt Jr. (Sue), Evelyn (Randy) Hunter; Doug (Jennifer) all of Georgia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Annelene.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Lake Mead Baptist Church. Visitation will be from Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary.
