Arlie Lewis Obituary

Arlie Louise Lewis, 84, passed away on January 6, 2020 in Overton, NV. Arlie was born on August 18, 1935 in Salem, OR to Clarence Thompson and Arlie H. Fellows. She first married Richard G. Young in 1951 in Salem, OR. They had one daughter and divorced in 1956. She then married Clarence A. Massingham in January 1957 in Centralia, WA, and he passed away in 1992. He had two sons from a previous marriage, and he and Arlie had a daughter and a son. She then married Wilmer (Willie) L. Lewis in 2003 in Gardenia, CA, until his passing in 2007. He had one daughter and a grandson.

Arlie worked for Peugeot Motors as a distribution clerk for several years. She took classes as an administrative assistant and worked as a high school secretary. She later retired from TUSD in 1998. She and Willie traveled yearly to family reunions in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. They visited much of the US, from New Orleans, Washington DC, New York City, and everything in between. They also ventured north to Canada and went on an Alaskan cruise. She was a big reader, enjoyed some politics, but really enjoyed anything on wagon trains on the Oregon and California trails, journals, and any fiction she could find. She recently began to delve into the history of Nevada.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (William) Walker of Overton, NV; her son, Jesse Massingham of CA; her daughter, Linda White, and her four children of WA. She was so grateful for her grandchildren, Jason Shatwell, his wife Selina, and son Allen; Sara (Nathan) Riggle, and Ashley Wheat for their care-giving and support, and her grandson, Jonathan (Regina) Shatwell of Wyoming and a number of great-grandchildren.
