Cortney R. Staley
Cortney Ronald Staley, age 32, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 in Carson City, Nevada. He was born August 27, 1986 in St. George, Utah to Garen Van and Natalie Lewis Staley. On October 31, 2013 he married ShaRae Marie Wigley in Carson City. Cortney grew up in Moapa, Nevada where he excelled in football and wrestling at MVHS. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his dad, his brothers and sister, and their extended family. He followed his dad into the paving industry, earning the trust of those he worked with as they witnessed his work ethic. He was a generous person, quick to laugh and able to bring laughter to others. He will be remembered for the love he had for his children.
Survivors include his wife ShaRae Marie; two sons and two daughters: Anthony James Salvato, Landon Ronald Staley, Lyla Morgan Staley, Quinn Natalie Vanessa Staley, all of Carson City, NV; his parents, Garen & Natalie Staley of Moapa, NV; grandparents, Frank & Donna Merritt of Logandale, NV; Pat Lewis of Moapa, NV; three brothers and one sister: Larry (Natalie) of Moapa, NV; Riley (Jakell) of Alamo, NV; Zachary (Paige) of Overton, NV and Makenzey (Tate) Jenkins of Carson City, NV.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, Moapa Chapel, 1420 E. Barlow Ave., Moapa, NV. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
