Edward Leap Obituary

Edward "Ed" Leap, aged 76, died on Monday, December 10, 2018 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada with his beloved wife, Patti, by his side. Ed was born on July 18, 1942 in Manhattan, New York to Agnes (Martinez) and Edward Joseph Leap.

Ed grew up in New York and once able he joined the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He served from 1959 – 1962. In the spring of 1965 he married Theresa DeStefano in New York and subsequently had two children, later divorcing in 1983 after having relocated to Missouri. In the fall of 1991, Ed married Patti Henderson in St. Louis, Missouri. They remained married for 27 years until his death. Patti was a loving and devoted wife to Ed.

Ed and Patti relocated from Missouri to Nevada upon his retirement from American Airlines in 2004 to be nearer to his daughter, Rachel Brandes, and her family. For the past 14 years in Nevada, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and his trips to the casino with Patti where they enjoyed their hobby of gambling, as well as visiting with friends. An avid lover of guns, Ed also enjoyed making his own ammunition and target shooting in the desert. He taught his grandsons how to handle firearms safely at an early age, as he had his wife and daughter.

Ed was a loving husband to Patti, father to Rachel and grandfather to Blake and Alec. He will be greatly missed.
