Paige (Holt) Reese

Edith Paige Holt Reese was born December 14, 1941 in Las Vegas, NV to Vaughan and Helen Williams Holt. She passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at Beehive Homes in Mesquite, NV after a brief illness.

Paige grew up in Las Vegas during the 1940’s and 50’s and has very fond memories of her childhood. She remembers riding horses with friends down the famous Las Vegas Strip and walking alone to her night-shift job in downtown Las Vegas. Later, Paige studied music at Brigham Young University where she climbed dozens of steps up a high tower and played the bells that rang out on campus. This helped pay her room and board.

Paige married the love of her life, Dennis, in Logan, UT in 1962. They eventually settled in Logandale, NV where they raised their family of five children. Paige was a talented musician and was often asked to play the piano or organ for her church. Her favorite use of her talent was to accompany her husband when he sang.

Paige and Dennis served a mission for their church in Tarawa, Kiribati where they taught at Moroni High School. Paige taught music and also directed a student choir. This choir won first place in a local music festival for both years that she directed them.

Paige and her husband, Dennis, shared a very special bond with each other. There is no doubt there’s a party going on in heaven with music, singing and plenty of card playing! Everyone who knew Paige loved her. She will be missed by her three children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Paige is survived by her sons, Daniel, (Patty), of Swedesboro, NJ, Timothy, (Tina), of St. George, UT, her daughter, Melanie, (Shane), of Spanish Fork, UT, brothers Barry Holt of Cedar City, UT, Russ Holt of Bountiful, UT and sister Leanne Ferdig of Henderson, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Reese and three children.

A small memorial service will be held, Friday, October 11, 2019 at Beehive Homes in Mesquite, NV at 10:30 AM. (780 Second South Street, Mesquite, NV). A funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hinckley building on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11 AM, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 AM.
