Ron Owens

Joseph Ronald "Ron" Owens, age 70, died Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born August 12, 1948 in Washington D.C. to Joseph Walter and Evelyn Owens. On December 22, 2012 he married Bonita Maria Holt in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ron grew up in (as he put it) the streets of D.C.. He quit school to see the world and joined the Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He relocated to the West where he worked as a plumber. He moved often, living in many parts of Southern California and Nevada. He finally settled in Southern Nevada and made Overton, Nevada home. Always a fan of Elvis and John Wayne, he enjoyed collecting Western themed memorabilia. He was good with a guitar and enjoyed the socializing the guitar brought, playing and singing with friends.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie of Overton, NV; son, Robert of Las Vegas, NV; step children: Sheila Howard of WA; Brett Saner of VA; Crystal Saner of NC; Tammi Nicholas of CA, Amanda (Casey) of CA; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
