Welcome to the memorial page for

Tony Roland Fox

July 27, 1957 ~ January 11, 2018 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Tony Roland Fox, 60, passed away at his home in Mesquite, Nevada on Thursday morning, after a two-year battle with cancer. According to his wishes, he died in his own bed and surrounded by his family.

Born to Lowell and Sylvia Fox of Ogden, Utah in 1957, Tony was a devoted husband, loving father, and caring grandfather. He was a tireless worker who was committed to seeing every job well done. Tony was employed with the Ogden City Police Department for 25 years, during which time he worked not only as a Police Lieutenant, but also as SWAT Team Commander. As Commander, he was able to travel to Mongolia and lead a training program for the Mongolian National SWAT Team, an opportunity that he cherished. After a long career in public service, he was delighted to be able to retire and to live where he vacationed. Tony was an avid golfer nearly all his life and belonged to the Oasis Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada, where he never stopped trying to improve his swing. Ever the outdoorsman, he also took great pleasure in hunting, fishing, camping, and getting mud on his Jeep tires.

Even in the toughest of times, Tony would look a struggle head-on, shrug, and conclude "It is what it is."

Tony is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife Cindy; daughters Amber, Jessica and Diana; sons Alex, Josh, and Nic and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his 3 siblings, his step-mother, and his parents-in-law.

While there will be no traditional funeral service, there will be a private ceremony at 4pm followed by a small memorial held at Oasis Golf Club on Sunday, January 14th at 5pm. Close friends and family wishing to celebrate Tony’s life are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alpine Church in Riverdale, Utah, where Tony found his faith under friend and Pastor Brian Dwyer.
