Barbara Diane Wisner, 82, passed away on June 7, 2020 in Clovis, California. She was born on April 20, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Alfred William Holmgren and Opal Mattice. Barbara was raised in California where she loved going to the beach and spending time in Atascadero with her grandmother and cousins. Barbara often reminisced about her family’s annual trips to Yosemite National Park and how she and her brother had turkeys for pets.
Barbara married Melvin LeRoy Wisner on October 21, 1960. Barbara and Roy had their first child, Wendy, and not long after followed their son Michael. Barbara and Roy lived in Garden Grove, California until 1968 when they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1975 Barbara and Roy moved to Logandale, Nevada where Barbara lived until 2014 when she moved to live with her daughter in Clovis, California.
Barbara loved numbers and tracking money. She worked for the Moapa Valley Federal Credit Union, Richard Lewis Construction, and retired from Overton Power in 2008.
Barbara loved working in the yard. She spent many hours keeping up with the daily maintenance of the “farm.” Barbara was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed the time that she spent serving in the Las Vegas Temple.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Chad Christensen), of Clovis, California and her son, Michael (Kristi Gambles), of Sugar Hill, Georgia; her grandchildren, Jordan Wisner, Kaylee Carter, Jacob Wisner, AJ Christensen, Emilyn Howell, Nicole Hester, and Amanda Wisner; her three great-grandchildren, Cora Joy, Riley June, and Walter Giles; and her brother, Warren (Dee) Holmgren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred William Holmgren; her mother, Opal Mattice; her husband, Melvin LeRoy Wisner; and two great-grandchildren, William and Charles Wisner.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Moapa Valley Mortuary in Logandale, NV. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book.
