Claudette Carmen Porter

Claudette Carmen Porter, age 75, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born September 22, 1936 in Billings, Montana to Waldo Phillip and Helen Johnson Skager. On December 31, 1955 she married James Hubert Porter in Billings, Montana. Claudette was born in raised in Billings, Montana. In 1996, she moved her family to North Las Vegas. She worked for three years in the Sheriff's office and later as a County Clerk. She enjoyed handicrafts, sewing and cooking. For most of her life, Claudette wanted the opportunity to go skydiving. Her first tandem jump ended in tragedy as the parachute failed and she fell to her death. She will be remembered for her charity, goodwill to others and for her service and love. Survivors include her husband, Jim of N. Las Vegas, NV; one son, Doug of N. Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Tammy (Gerald) Frye of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne., Las Vegas, Nevada.
