Darren Charles Burkett, 56, passed away on June 2, 2025 in Overton, Nevada. Darren was born on January 7, 1969 to Dan Henry Burkett and Donna Ann Madrid in Patuxent River, Maryland. His family moved to California, and he was raised playing in the ocean and riding bicycles with his friends. They would spend their time improving their bikes, trying to get faster. He continued this love and kept riding motorcycles and four-wheelers. He loved going camping, fishing, and spending time out on boats and being in the water. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marines Corps. Following his military service, he worked as a project manager doing scaffolding. He also loved carpentry, and would help others with their projects.
He married Carolyn Barlow in Logandale, Nevada on September 28, 1996, and they were later sealed in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple on April 19, 2008. He loved his wife, his children, and adored his grandson. He was a good guy that wanted to help everyone. Darren faced ongoing health challenges and lived with pain that few truly understood. Each day was a battle, but even through the darkest moments, he continued to love deeply, and was deeply loved in return.
Darren is survived by his wife, Carolyn Burkett; his children, Anthony (Kayla) Burkett, Tori Burkett, and Jacob Burkett; his grandson, Hunter Jones; his brothers, David (Adeline) Burkett, Shawn (Nikki) Cirrincione, and Marc Cirrincione; and his stepfather, Gene Cirrincione. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan Burkett and Donna Cirrincione, and his brother, Doug Burkett.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
