Gayle Parker

Gayle Parker, 84, passed away on November 17, 2024 in her home in Las Vegas, NV. Gayle was born on August 21, 1940 in Price, UT to Harry Lee and Julia Branch Higgins. She married Gary Fred Parker on March 4, 1961 in North Las Vegas, NV and sealed in the St. George Temple on June 23, 1973.

Gayle loved spending time with her family. She looked forward to their many get-togethers and family vacations. She was a Disney mom, and never missed a chance for a Disneyland trip. She would camp out for hours to make sure her family had a great spot to watch any parade or fireworks show. Gayle loved crafts. She was talented in crochet and made blankets for her grandchildren. She also did Macrame and rug-making back when that was popular. She loved camping, and going to the beach to spend time with her family, collect shells, and watch the sunsets. Gayle was a hard worker. She worked for the Clark County School District for thirty years, starting as a Health Aid and retired as an Administration Assistant, overseeing large school budgets every year.

Gayle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father and her Savior. Through her trials, she deepened her love for others, learned patience, and strength. Even while enduring her own trials, she always put others first. She made others feel loved, well-fed, and capable of becoming better people. She was very much in love with her husband, Fred, and they never left each other’s side.

Gayle is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Gary Fred Parker; her children, Chris (Nancy) Parker, Marnie Parker Barbee, and Kelli (James) Hougland-Parker; her eight grandchildren; and her eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Lynn Parker; her parents, Harry and Julia Higgins; and her siblings, Bryce Higgins, Harry David Higgins, and JoAn Higgins Arnold.
