Jana Ann Leavitt, age 75, died at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 24, 2023 in Logandale, Nevada. She was born May 3, 1948 in Joplin, Missouri to Speedy Robert and Eddie Lou Bible Nutz. On September 14, 1974 she married Philip Leavitt in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Jana grew up in Chula Vista, California. She raised her family in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Logandale in 2003. She loved being a mother. She devoted her life to raising her children and helping them as a loving grandmother. She enjoyed serving others and helping others to be resilient and prepared for all types of emergencies.
Survivors include her husband, Phil; two sons and four daughters: Jacob (Sarah) of Logandale,; Tenaya (Aaron) Kohntopp of Logandale; Casey (Erin) of Overton; Darci (Brad) Munford of Logandale; Jessalyn (David) Cameron of Overton; Chauntel (Mathew) Oakden of St. George, UT; daughter in law, Tania of ID; thirty grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters: Toni (Gordon) Bahen of OR; Judy (Bruce) Goldman of CA; Jim (Gini) Nutz of AZ; Danny (Diane) Nutz of AZ and Cathy (Steve) Hunter of OR. She was preceded in death by one son, Christopher.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Logandale Chapel, 3245 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale, NV. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
