Jerry Junior Leonard, 82, passed away on April 25, 2023 in St. George, UT. Jerry was born on May 10, 1940 in Windsor, MO to Harold Alexander and Oleta Lucille Birchfield Leonard. His family moved to Stratford, TX and again to Oakdale, CA, where Jerry graduated from high school and attended college for a year. He left college to join the United States Air Force, and was soon stationed in Germany, and later at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Air Force, Jerry worked with a moving and storage company which he bought out and ran for over forty years, and was affiliated with Atlas Van Lines. He worked hard and received the Small Business Person of the Year Award for the State of Nevada in 1985. He was also a talented woodworker that shared his gift with everyone, including making toys for Toys for Tots. He also helped build a church in Duck Creek, UT. He was a big supporter of the Salvation Army. He married the love of his life, Ruth, on April 26, 2003 and they shared many adventures. They took their motorhome around the States and cruised around the world. He was a man of immense faith and loved God.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Ruth Leonard; his children, Trena (Rick) Zamito and Tessa (Kurt) Sievertson; step-son, Scott Blockland; twelve grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Oleta Leonard; children, Troy Leonard and Tracy Clark; and brother, Gary Dean Leonard.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, 1:30-2:00 p.m., with Funeral services to start at 2:00 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd, Logandale, NV, with graveside services at the Logandale Cemetery, 3220 Lyman Ave., Logandale, NV.
