John N Wilson, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Alamo, Nevada, just a week shy of his 86th birthday. Born on March 28, 1940, in Hatch, Utah, John was the second of thirteen children. His early years saw the family relocate to St. George, Utah, where he completed kindergarten through high school.
Following his graduation, John answered the call to service by joining the National Guard. He served a mission in South America, working in Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina.
John furthered his education at what is now known as the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (formerly NSU). It was during this time that he met Regena through shared involvement in the M-men and Gleaners. They married in 1970. They lived in Las Vegas, Nevada; Ivins, Utah; Fredonia, Arizona; ending up in Alamo, Nevada.
John sold real estate, was a truck driver, worked in construction, and in mining, where he was known as “Mormon John.” Later he worked at the NTTR, where he specialized as a Weed, Pest, and Rodent Control agent.
John's life was deeply intertwined with his faith. Within his church community, he served in numerous capacities: as a member of the Sunday School Presidency, several terms on the Bishopric, and ultimately as Bishop. His longstanding service in the temple was particularly cherished. He and Gena served Senior Missions in the Peru Lima South Mission as MLS missionaries and the Guatemala City Temple. For John, working in the temple was not merely a calling but a sacred privilege and joy.
He is survived by his spouse, Regena, and their children: Keri, Wesley (Michelle), Riley (Kristine), Rachel, Whitney (Timothy), Seth (Kendra), Jolee (Joshua), Erin (Jason), Riki Ann, and Bess. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends.
Family was the cornerstone of John’s life. He was a steadfast believer in the importance of family bonds and took great joy in attending every reunion, baptism, and baby blessing within the Wilson and Perkins families, as well as among his own children and their families.
