Jose Manuel Romero, 63, left his earthly life surrounded by love on March 16, 2022 in Las Vegas, NV. Joe was born October 1, 1958 in Edinburgh, TX to Manuel R. Romero and Eva Cadena Romero. On November 17, 1990, he married Annetta Robison in Logandale, NV, not only gaining a wife, but also 3 children.
The second son of migrant workers, he learned early the ethic of hard work. He loved to go out and work in the fields or dairy with his father. He attended Moapa Valley schools most of his education, save for 3 years in North Las Vegas. Joe was an avid sportsman in high school and graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1977. He started earning a wage at 14 years old and was never without a job until his retirement in October, 2021. He was employed for 41+ years by Nevada Power/NV Energy, starting in the coal yard and ending as a welder/mechanic.
In 1992 and 1997, he and Annetta welcomed two more daughters with as much love a father could give.
Joe was humble, loving, generous to a fault and a friend to all. He was proud of his Mexican heritage and equally proud to be a first-generation US citizen. He was devoted to his entire family for all of his life, and he was proud of their accomplishments. We will miss his real hugs, nicknames, advice, fun, level-headedness and good-natured teasing.
Joe is survived by his wife, Annetta; children: Josephina Martha Eva Romero (James Harvey) Overton, NV; Marya Ysabel Romero Hoffman (Jacob) Bozrah, CT; Samantha Chandler (Paul) Logandale, NV; Annetta Lehua Fry (Louis) Las Vegas, NV; and Kaluna Aki (Isabel) Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren: Jakob and Gabriel Aki; Rebekah, Isabella, and Paul Joseph Chandler; Luna and Aila Fry; Ayrton Harvey; Joanick, Isaira and Nico Diaz and Antonio Jones; his brother Jesus Romero (Olema) Las Vegas, NV and sister, Maria Medina (Mario) Overton, NV; and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Eva Romero, and his father-in-law, Albert D. Robison.
