Joseph Ward Whitmore

Joseph Ward Whitmore, age 62, passed away November 20, 2025, at his son’s home in Enoch, Utah. Joe was born April 4th, 1963, in Overton, Nevada. At the Daughter’s of Utah Pioneers Hospital, behind the old Lyon Drug store off main street. He attended the big block of K through 12 all housed at Mack Lyon Middle School. He was involved in both Football, Number 44 and Wrestling, taking state in both sports.

After graduation, he married Stacy Tobiasson who preceded him in death. They are survived by their three sons, and six grandchildren: Joseph Jake (Rebeca) Whitmore and their children: Brynlee Mae Whitmore, Weston Tucker Whitmore, Callen Jace Donelly and Kaylee Masterson of Enoch Utah; Michael Roxton Whitmore of Overton; Kyler Ford (Sierra Sheree Kimbrough) Whitmore and their children: Tylee Ann and Lilah Dawn Whitmore of Overton.

Joe was preceded by his mother Barbara Jo Whitmore and his middle sister Jamie Sue Whitmore. He is survived by his older brother, Rocky (Teri) Whitmore of Overton and his two sisters; Tammy Whitmore and Wendy Zazueta both of Las Vegas.

Joe loved his role of being a grandpa. At family functions, he was usually found amongst all the children. Playing and running with them and being his usual entertaining self. He taught them to play hard and enjoy Hacky sack.

Joe had a special way with vehicles. He was always tinkering on some type of transportation. Whether he was walking in the house to show mom he had broken a bicycle in half after an Evil Knievel stunt when he was 6 years old, to the vast number of cars that he modified into four wheelers even when they were clearly only two-wheel drive. Not to mention his Ultra-Light plane (a mosquito engine frame with wings) where he had no repeat flyers. He left his mark all over town.

Joe told us many times, “I’m immortal, not from this planet. I am just an observer here to report…” I am happy to report Joe has been beamed up to 3I-Atlas, his Mothership has taken him home.
