Kathleen Marie “Kathy” Perkins, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Alamo, Nevada. She was born July 10, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Harold Humphrey and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan Davenport. On December 18, 1972 she married Timothy Ute Perkins in Overton, Nevada. They were later sealed on September 15, 1990 in the Las Vegas LDS Temple.
Kathy grew up in Alamo. Her mother became ill and her family moved to Boulder City for her start of high school, but she finished her senior year at Moapa Valley High School, where she met Tim. In her youth, she loved horses, rodeos and 4-H. After they were married, they started a trucking business, hauling oil. They both drove trucks and Kathy managed the books and raised two daughters. They had a happy life as they moved several times before settling back home in Alamo in 1988. Back in Alamo, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints became an important part of their family life. Tim baptized Kathy and their two daughters in 1988 and they were sealed as a family on September 15, 1990 in the Las Vegas Temple. She served faithfully in Relief Society, Primary and for many years as the Compassionate Services Leader. She was easy to love and she loved being a grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Tim; one daughter, Kitten (Mark) Higbee; her son in law, Ken (Nikki)Maxwell all of Alamo; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tami and one brother, James Medici.
