Linda Marie Walker, age 80, our one of a kind, loving mother, sister and friend to many, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at her home in Mesquite NV, surrounded by her two adoring children.
Linda was born on March 17, 1940 to James M. and Myrle S. Walker in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from East High school and attended both Colorado College and the University of Utah. In 1965 she married Neal W. Stephenson. They had two children and later divorced.
Both a model and talented dancer, she performed in the musicals West Side Story and Can-Can, while living in San Francisco, CA. She was an active member in the Beta Eta chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, participating in numerous social and charity events where she was undoubtedly the life of the party.
Linda lived the majority of her life in Salt Lake City, UT where she worked in Human Resources for Williams International. She moved to Las Vegas, NV briefly in the late 90’s, finally landing in her beloved Mesquite, NV in 1998, where she spent her final years traveling and enjoying an active social life with her innumerable, cherished friends. She was an outstanding gardener, an avid golfer and loved to cook.
She will be extraordinarily missed by her family and friends. She is survived by one son, Mark (Marcy) Stephenson of Salt Lake City, UT and his son, Cole Stephenson; one daughter, Kristin Stephenson of Goodland, FL and her son, Leonardo DeMartino; and one brother, James (Candy) Walker of Mesquite, NV. At Linda’s request, memorial services will be private.
