Logandale, NV

Mary Elane Albrecht Barnum, 82, passed away on May 5, 2025 in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Mary was born on September 25, 1942 in Salina, Utah to William Torval Albrecht and Elnore Rasmussen. She was raised in Bicknell, Utah. She loved music and learned to play the piano. She went on to learn the organ and the accordion. She was an excellent student. She married Roger Behunin, and they had four children together, and they were later divorced. Mary then worked as a secretary at BYU and U of U. She loved to go dancing, and at one dance, was dared by a friend to pick her own partner. She chose Larry Eugene Barnum as her dance partner, and it turned out to be a very providential choice. They were married in Winnemucca, Nevada on December 28, 1981 and joined their two families. They each had four children, and had their ninth together. They were later sealed in the Provo, Utah Temple in 1984.

Mary loved to jog, and as she got older, to go on long walks. She was a quiet and thoughtful person. She worked as a secretary for many years with Nevada Power, and later retired from working with Special Education with the Clark County School District. She loved God, and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many teaching and musical callings. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband, Larry Barnum; her children, David (Susan) Behunin, Donald (Camille) Behunin, Michelle (Gabe) Waters, and Ryan (Lettice) Barnum; her step-children, Julie (Rick) Willard, Toni (Kelly) Law, Garth (Lorraine) Barnum, and Rochelle (Eric) Brigg many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Maurice (Lola) Albrecht, Steve (LeAnn) Albrecht, and Carl (Gail) Albrecht.
