Rodney Floyd Davis

Rodney Floyd Davis, 84, passed away on October 13, 2025 in his home in Overton, NV. Rodney was born on September 7, 1941 in Grandview, WA to Clarence F Davis and Lois Fay Weimer. He married Dorothy Ann Simile on November 24, 1963 and they had two children together. She later passed away on January 9, 1981. Rodney later married Lyleen Marie Henderson on February 25, 1983. She passed away on May 8, 2024.

Rodney worked as an electrician for over twenty-five years. He really started in the family business as soon as he could pick up a pair of pliers. He would work in commercial construction, building hospitals and other business buildings. As a child he became infatuated with airplanes and in time learned to fly. He went to trade school and became a licensed aircraft mechanic. In time he became a flight instructor and spent thousands of hours sharing his love of flying as he taught them to become the best pilots they could be. He loved being in the air and he loved working on planes. When the economy changed, he returned to the family business but always kept looking up at the sky anytime an aircraft flew by.

He was always in his shop building something. He loved growing things. He always had a garden and beautiful landscaping. He was a social person and cared deeply about his friends. He was always telling stories and having a positive spin on things. Rodney was a strongly religious person and loved his Savior. He was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Rodney is survived by his children, Erick (Maria) Davis and Robert (Cheryl) Davis; his three grandchildren; and his brother, Clyde “Skip” Davis. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Davis; his wife, Lyleen Marie Henderson; and his parents, Clarence and Lois Davis.

A Graveside service will be held at the Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery, Mormon Mesa Road, Overton, NV 89040, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, 10:00 a.m. If weather is a concern, the service will be held at the Moapa Valley Mortuary.
