Sandra Lee “Sandy” Jarrell Cameron, age 82, died Monday, March 30, 2026, peacefully at home in Logandale, Nevada with her family at her side. She was born November 12, 1943, in Compton, California to Martin Clyde and Faye Maxine McIntosh Jarrell. On September 14, 1962, she married Bruce Garth Cameron in the St. George Utah LDS Temple.
When Sandy was a young girl, her father’s work with the railroad brought their family to Las Vegas. She graduated from Rancho High School where she excelled in her studies and further developed her love for singing and playing piano. She attended BYU as a music major. She soon turned her attention to being a devoted wife and later as a loving mother. Following Bruce’s graduation from Dental School in St. Louis, they moved to Las Vegas and finally, in 1975, to their home in Logandale.
Sandy was able to share her musical talents throughout her life. She blessed countless lives in all her circles of influence. She taught music at Moapa Valley High School, directed multiple choirs and assisted in many musical plays. She formed and directing multiple community and church choirs for many years. She taught private piano and voice lessons for many years. While serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Argentina, she formed an area choir and was instrumental in teaching many people to play piano. Her enthusiasm was contagious and those she taught felt her love and acceptance. She was a faithful member of the church, serving with enthusiasm and love.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce of Logandale; two sons and one daughter: Russell of Las Vegas; David (Anne) of Clifton, ID; Julie (Chris) Totten of Gainesville, TX: twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Rich and one great grandson, Gabriel.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 6, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, East Stake Center, 2555 N. St. Joseph Street, Logandale, NV. Visitation will be Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery. Friends and family members are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
