Sheila Wariner Jensen, 50, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2023 in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, surrounded closely by her Husband and two Children.
Sheila was born on June 20, 1972 in Durango, Colorado, to Lynn Raymond Wariner and Idonna Millet. She was raised in Bloomfield, New Mexico. Sheila enjoyed singing, music, dancing, water skiing at Navajo Lake, snowmobiling, sports cars, and spending time with family and friends. After graduating from high school, she attended Rick’s College in Rexburg, Idaho, where she obtained her Associate’s degree. She worked for some time as a nail technician and then as an executive assistant for several companies. She was determined to own her own sports car and worked hard to buy her first car, a red Toyota MR2.
She met Jason P. Jensen in 2002 in Phoenix, Arizona while he was serving in the United States Air Force at Luke AFB. It was at an ice cream social where Jason laid his eyes upon her and never stopped looking after that. After a year of dating, they were married in the San Diego, California LDS Temple on April 12, 2003. Their new marriage we certainly tested when Jason was deployed to Korea for a year, but upon his return, they knew they could handle anything together. Sheila and Jason, after 5 years of trying and 2 surgeries later, were blessed with their two children, Kaylee and Daxton. Sheila was very excited to finally be a mother. She loved her children and did everything she could for them.
Sheila was incredibly talented with a knack to lovingly decorate any space, especially her home. She had a passion for restoring and refurbishing antique furniture. Her exquisite furniture she refurbished reflected her eye for beauty and elegance. She spent countless hours working on these pieces and it showed to anyone who saw or purchased them.
She was a true redhead; exuberant, independent, loving, and especially forgiving (Unless it was something she still remembered Jason doing wrong 15 years ago).
When she received a terminal colon cancer diagnosis six years ago, she made every effort to build memories for her children and enjoy her time with Jason, all while facing the hardest things they would have to endure, but they did it together. She inspired all with her faith and knew her family would be Together Forever. She shared her story with many on social media in hopes that those going through the same challenges could draw from her strength and learn from her own experiences.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Jason Jensen, her children, Kaylee “KK” and Daxton “Bud-Bud”, her father, Lynn Wariner; her siblings, Lynette (Mitch) Long, Raymond (Chris) Wariner, Cathleen McCary, and Melissa (Shane) Rail, her sister-in-law, Lisa Wariner, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Idonna Millett Wariner; her brother, David Lynn Wariner, and brother-in-law, Kevin McCary.
