Virgil Hardy

Virgil Milton Hardy, 87, passed away on August 1, 2025 surrounded by his family in Logandale, NV. Virgil was born on March 23, 1938 in Las Vegas, NV to Charles Alfred Hardy and Fawn Lowe. He married Barbara Jean Dudding on December 22, 1958 in Bloomington, CA, and they were later sealed on June 27, 1961 in the Los Angeles, CA Temple.

Virgil enjoyed being in the outdoors and in the mountains. He and his family took many camping and fishing trips throughout the Pacific Northwest. He also loved gardening, woodworking, and working on construction projects around the house. He cared for his many animals, including bees, rabbits and chickens. He loved his wife and his family, and loved his time with them, especially when he was able to beat them all at Five Crowns.

Virgil was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved his Savior. He served in many callings, such as a Stake Seventy, several bishoprics, High Council, and as a Scout Leader for many years. He and Barbara worked in the Las Vegas, NV Temple for over a decade. Virgil was a hard worker, doing everything from security, tree trimming, pool maintenance, janitorial, and driving truck. He worked Animal Control for the longest, and this brought him and his family to Logandale, NV. He served as a Fire Chief for the Logandale Department for many years.

Virgil is survived by his three sons and one daughter: Adam (Janice), Eric (Elizabeth), Bryan (Diane) and Kimberly; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Hardy; his parents; and his siblings, Van Hardy, Katheryn Ruggerone, Denny Hardy, and Cheryl Ann Easton.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 15 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hinckley Chapel, 1505 West Hinckley. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
