Christopher Pearce, age 70, passed away January 9, 2021, in a home surrounded by family. He unexpectedly went into cardiac arrest on January 2nd.
Christopher proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years as SMsgt. He next began his second career with the United States Post Office, retiring after 25 years as the Mesquite, NV PostMaster.
Prior to his retirement he was diagnosed with IPF (a lung disease believed to have been genetic). He vigorously battled this disease for 3 years. A miracle occurred when he received a double lung transplant just in the nick of time, which gave his family just over 3 ½ more years with him.
This time that was given to him was a rough road, but his strength and faith kept him going to be with his loved ones.
He is remembered lovingly by his wife Cindy of 48 years, whom he cherished; and their four children: Mike, Jon (Angie), Heidi (Adam), and Bridget (Duane); eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: Brianna (Nick) with their children Jaden, Owen and Allyson; Tommy; Brandan; Brittani; Christian (Taylor) with their children, Riley and Olivia; Hanna with her children Paisley, Logan and Kennedy; Nicole with her son Bentley; Summer; Hunter; Sophia and Phoebe.
"He leaves our family to be with his parents; his brother George; and Almighty, God the Father, as a strong Angel to watch over us." He is deeply loved and admired in the lives of everyone who knew him.
A viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Moapa Valley Mortuary.
