Delbert Sweat Obituary

Delbert J. Sweat, age 80, died Saturday, March 28, 2020 with his wife at his side in St. George, Utah.  He was born November 19, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Melven Sweat and Florence Mary Ricord.  On July 6, 1984, he married Laurie Gaffney  in Elko, NV .
Del leaves behind his wife Laurie; brothers: Joe and Jim (Glenna);  sister Anna (Tad); his children: Michael (Holly); Nick (Jessica); Roxanne (Greg); Christopher (Kim); Del Jr. and Robert.  He was preceded in death by two sons, Troy and Tony and one grandchild, Dennis.
He was retired for many years from his own business ventures and real estate.  He served in the US Marine Corp.  He loved golfing and the camaraderie he enjoyed in the Beaver Dam Mafia and making friends along the way.
Del would tell you he had a “Beautiful Life”.  His words, days before he passed.  He cherished each and every one of his children, 47 grandchildren and 52 ½ great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Del was happiest when the house was noisy and full of family.  The more chaos the happier he was.  He loved his family, as they were his greatest joy.
We will miss him more than words can say.  No services are planned at this time, but when the world settles down, we will have a Celebration of Life to honor Del.  Rest easy Sweetheart, until we meet again.
