Doran Winn Lytle

Our loved brother, husband, father and grandfather, Doran Winn Lytle, age 55, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2020 in St. George, Utah.

He was born October 15, 1964 in Homestead, Florida at an Air Force Base to Eldon Grey and Rula Cordon Lytle. Doran grew up in Rose Valley, Nevada near Pioche. He graduated from Provo High School, served a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Texas, then earned his Bachelors Degree from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. There he met Carolyn Louise Budd, and on July 11, 1986 they were sealed in the St. George Temple.  He enjoyed a teaching career in Alamo, Nevada (Lincoln County) where he worked as a teacher, reading specialist and as a wrestling coach.

Soon after their son was born, Doran suffered a head injury which resulted in RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystropy) which he suffered with the remainder of his life.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing; and he was often found taking his tolddler son Seth out to Sunnyside Lake to go fishing in their little green boat.  He had an incredible work ethic and always tried his best to help others.  Though his health did not permit him to spend as much time in the outdoors as he wanted, he enjoyed sharing his love of collecting coins, old pocket watches and antique bottles.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a wonderful grandfather, spoiling them with stories and jokes.  He will be greatly missed, but we are glad that he has finally found relief from the pain that he has suffered for so many years.  

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of St. George, UT; son, Seth and wife Tara of Centerville, UT; four grandchildren, Samuel, Rula, Andrew and Layla; four brothers, Wayne, Gaylin, Ayren, Voss;  three sisters, RuLeena, Trina and Kaylene.

Family and friends are invited to come visit Carolyn and the family in the backyard of their home, 1990 E. 620 N., St. George, Utah from 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 12 Noon (PST) in the Lytle Family Cemetery, Eagle Valley, Nevada.
