GeorgiAnne Ozaki Obituary

GeorgiAnne Tomoye Ozaki peacefully, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023. GeorgiAnne was born on August 23, 1937 to George Joji Yamaka and Masako Yamashita in Los Angeles, California. She moved with her parents to Overton in the early part of 1942 during the war. GeorgiAnne was an only child, but grew up surrounded by her uncles and cousins. She attended Moapa Valley high school and enjoyed  playing basketball, softball, and dancing with the Debonettes.

Throughout GeorgiAnne’s life she loved the arts. She enjoyed playing piano, painting, making jewelry, quilting, restoring furniture, and crafting with her grandchildren.

Annie married Eugene Tomoyo Ozaki on June 30, 1956 and in 1966 she and Gene joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On April 27, 1968, they were sealed in the St George temple. They made their home in Overton. They had a small farm in the middle of the valley and raised tomato plants, onions, radishes, lettuce, etc. most of which supplied the Las Vegas area. They had three boys: Stanley, Randall, and Robbin. They had a wonderful life on the farm.

After farming, GeorgiAnne opened a small dress shop called The Clothes Tree. Later she worked at the bank in Overton and, in the early 80’s, she received her real estate license and started selling real estate for Land Brokers. Annie thoroughly enjoyed meeting people and finding homes and land for them. She and Gene took up golf later in life and she loved spending time with her husband and boys out on the golf course. However, once the grandchildren came along, she had a hard time leaving “the darlings.” She enjoyed serving in various ward callings and especially enjoyed her time serving as a worker in the Las Vegas Temple. Her favorite way to spend her time was to be with her family. In September 1999 GeorgieAnne lost Gene to cancer.

GeorgiAnne married Ray Doty on August 31, 2013. They loved to travel together and after a short stay in San Diego, decided to move back to Overton to live.

She is survived by her husband Ray of Overton, and two sons: Randall (Lori) of Overton, and Robbin (Geniel) of Overton; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren all of Overton. GeorgiAnne was preceded in death by her husband, Gene on September 9, 1999; a son, Stanley; and her parents.
