Hugh Scott McPherson

Hugh Scott McPherson, age 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 15, 2021 at his home in Mesquite, NV. He was born on July 7, 1960 to Hugh D. McPherson and Charlotte Marcel Kelly in Tracy, CA. In 2005 he finally had the opportunity to marry his companion, best friend and love of his life, Galan Scott Allen in San Francisco, CA.

Hugh enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of Tracy, California where he spent his childhood growing up. He graduated from Tracy High School . In his Senior Year he was nominated and added to the "Who’s Who in Academic Achievments" for students attending Tracy High School. He later attended UNLV and majored in Phychology. He had a great love for life and making everyone he met happy. He also had a great love for cooking and was delighted when he was hired to be a Sous Chef for the "Harvey’s Wagon Wheel Casino" in Lake Tahoe. He later worked with the "Frugal Gourmet" as well as "Julia Child".

In 2018 he became legally blind and entered the DETR program for training on how to manage and own your own business. He later attended BEN, (Business Entrepreneurs of Nevada) where he was given the privilege and opportunity of owning a business in Mesquite, Nevada known as the "Table of Contents", located in the Mesquite Library. He invited Galan Allen to be his business partner and together, with a lot of hard work and love, they made it unto what it is today.

Hugh is survived by his husband, Galan Allen and his nephew, Charles Wiley both of Mesquite, NV. He also is survived by one sister who lives in CA. His final wishes was to be cremated, so he could be with his immediate family in their home in Mesquite, NV.

Hugh was loved by everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all. Thank you Mesquite for making him feel at home and for all your kind words and gestures of love and encouragement you gave him during this difficult time.
