Marilyn Jean (Shires) Hemmerick

Marilyn J. Hemmerick, 69, passed away, Thursday, April 8, at home with her loving husband by her side. She was born May 4, 1951 in Utica, NY to Joseph and Maryet (Cook) Shires. She married Thomas J. Hemmerick on February 8, 1995 in Las Vegas, NV.

Marilyn attended the Utica School of Cosmetology and was a talented hair dresser for over 30 years. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and loved her dogs.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas of Mesquite, NV; sons, Larry (RoseMary) Joseph Jr. of Utica, NY, Steven Joseph of Virginia; step daughters, Christine (Frank) Kearney of Mason, OH, Jennifer (Jason) Winger of Lafayette, IN; 8 grandchildren, Emily, Sara, Rachel, & Owen Kearney, Madison, Riley, Avery, & Drew Winger; sisters, Linda Kelly, Patti Shires, brother Joseph Shires, all of Utica, NY; sisters in law, Carol Hemmerich, Ellen Phillips, both of East Stroudsburg, PA. She is also survived by several loving nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Alden, brother, Randy Shires, sister in law, Betty Shires, brothers in law, William Kelly and Jack Phillips; step-son, Thomas P. Hemmerick

Funeral mass will be Thursday, April 15, at 9 AM at La Virgen de Guadeloupe. Interment will be at Hillside Drive Cemetery.
