Terrance Black Obituary

Terry Black of Mesquite, Nevada passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, with his Special Angel by his side, on July 14, 2022.  He was born March 14, 1940 in Hanna, Wyoming to Edison Wilson and Beatrice Smith (Renny) Black.

He was raised in McFadden, Wyoming where he graduated in 1958.  Terry briefly attended the University of Wyoming until enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1960. After his honorable discharge from the military, he married the love of his life, Ruth Marie Holiday on February 1, 1964.

Terry was a retired Greyhound bus driver with 29 years of service.  He enjoyed the great outdoors- hunting, fishing and trapping.  One of his favorite past times was leather working.  He also enjoyed listening, watching, and rooting on football, basketball, and baseball, especially for the Wyoming Cowboys.  He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Masonic Lodge Cheyenne #1.

He is survived by his wife; Ruth Marie (Holiday) Black of Mesquite, NV, daughters; Gerladine (Karlyle) Shook of Pahrump, NV, Rhonda (Andres) Gutierrez of Bullhead City, AZ, Tammy (Shane) Rathburn of Cheyenne, WY, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, sister; Charlene (William) Bitner of Cheyenne, WY, brother; George (Phyllis) Black of Vancouver, WA.  Terry was preceded in death by Beatrice Smith (Renny) Black and Edison Wilson Black.

Terry’s wishes were that there were to be no services.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to American Macular Degeneration Foundation (macular.org) or Beaver Dam Fire Department, Littlefield, AZ.
